[classy=pic] [/classy][style=font-family: times new roman; font-size: 18px; text-align: center; text-transform: uppercase; margin-bottom: 5px;]don't ever look back. an excited kit sat at the very edge of the nursery's entrance, his puffy kitten down fluffed up as adrenaline run through his veins. nothing yet had happened that was all too exciting, but the sheer prospect of what was about to go down was enough to cause this kitten's heart to thump hard against his chest. today was the very first day that the pale cream kitten would leave the cosy den of the nursery, the first day that he would step into the clearing and be that tiny bit closer to becoming a warrior. that day was still a long way off, of course. but for a young mind, many things are exaggerated until they are overly impossible.
a few quick breaths escaped the kitten's small mouth, with the warm air evaporating as it hit the contrasting cold air, causing a cloud of white smoke to lift up from him. it had amused the kitten at the very beginning, him being amazed at how he could do such a thing. he did not know others could too, as he had only ever seen the other queens and kittens safely within the nursery, as well as the occasional apprentice that brought his mother food. the thought of food caught the tomcat's attention, as his pink mouth begun to water as he craved his mother sweet milk...
no! he had to do this now, before his brother an sister woke up! he had to be the first out of his litter, so he could boast about it. flickkit knew that if his brother or sister did it first they would do the same, so he had to be the first! with one last quick breath, before a rather large inhale, the kitten would lift himself up until he was standing at his full height. which... wasn't very high at all. being only one moon old had it's limitations, and no matter how large an imagination a kitten could have, he would still be the lowest in the entire clan.
another flick of his slender tail, and the kitten would crouch his body to the ground so that his belly fur just tickled the earth. his weak muscles would tense up, before his hind legs would stretch out, sending his body flying. not too much, mind you. in reality all it was was a simple little hop, but to the kitten it was a giant leap that could of cleared the tallest mountain. when his dainty little paws hit the ground of the clearing, the outside world, he would freeze.
unsure as to what to do once out, the kitten would simply stay in his position. frozen, standing in one place about a few mice-length from the nursery, flickkit would ponder over what had just happened. i'm out, he thought, a small smile slowly beginning to blossom upon his pale lips, before it grew into a full-grown grin. his small, ivory fangs were on full display, no threat to anything but the smallest of bugs. that didn't matter right now, because flickkit had done it. he was the first of his littler to enter the clearing. ☀ SUNSTAR ☀ i am stronger than my fears =============================== :: from the lowest in the clan, to the highest of positions, there wasn't a single cat not awake that day in the windclan camp. all around, warriors bustled and moved, a miniature wave of bodies in motion as those that returned from hunting or patrolling came back with the fruits of their labors, their weary paws being replaced by the timely arrival of the next group as fresh eyes and ears slid into the grasslands, disappearing without so much as a sound. above, the sun's warmth shimmered down on the cold stained earth, gentle rays caressing everything in sight as they tried somewhat vainly to alleviate the chill of the morning, light pink clouds slowly floating by lazily in the otherwise clear sky, the dawn shedding its dazzling display in favor for the coming afternoon. songbirds sang their sweetest songs of farewells and hellos as they danced between the sunbeams in the air high above the grassland, feathers swaying in the winds freely, wings lifting fragile forms to places no cat could ever hope to go in their lifetimes. it was days like this - beneath the new sun and the sweet songs - that one just couldn't help but adore, in spite of the leaf-bare like weather, and a soft patch of dewy grass, just sitting there, was just too tempting to pass up even for the most dedicated of warriors.
and that's where the windclan deputy had found her, laying on her back and shifting in the wet grass just beyond the camp grounds, eyes closed and purring like a newborn kit at the euphoric feeling... and pointedly ignoring the other cat's presence completely. the deputy's whiskers twitched in annoyance, eyes narrowing slightly in response to the blatant and immature actions sunstar was using, but did nothing to try and get her to stop either. at only twenty five moons old, sunstar was still very young for such a position as leadership, and it was a miracle to starclan she was even alive to be a leader in the first place after the betrayal windclan had suffered. a few stolen moments rolling in the grass wasn't going to end the clan, who's patrols and such had been planned out the night beforehand, and besides it was better for the clan as a whole, who were still suffering in the aftershock of that vicious plot that killed springstar, to see that smile on sunstar's face rather than it was see her scowl or depressed. a few more moments passed by quietly, before sunstar finally rolled onto her side to face her deputy, blue orbs staring up at the older cat stoically for a moment before she rose to her paws, water droplets still clinging on to her golden pelt and giving in a shimmering look as the sun's light caressed her gently. 'sunstar... if you're going to play around, at least let me know.' mewed the deputy, whiskers once more twitching as the only response was an eye roll from sunstar. 'one of these days you're gonna go out and a thunderstorm is going to roll in, you know...' it was no secret to the clan that their leader was deathly afraid of thunderstorms, as it had been the reason she'd been unable to travel to the moonpool the day after her mother's death and the destruction of the evil traitor who planned it... and after what happened and how it happened, no one really blamed her for anything.
but alas, the only time she showed such fears was when there was a thunderstorm either coming or there right then, because sunstar merely just shook her head jovially and batted her deputy's ear. "you worry too much, you know that?" she mewed, golden tail flicking behind her as she turned her gaze to the sky. "the sky's as clear as the lake, no storm here. now, quit worrying so much. we don't want your fur to turn grey now do we?" she didn't wait for an answer before she turned around and stepped back into the camp clearing, her deputy following her loyally, abet in a much sour mood than before. sunstar chuckled softly to herself as she gazed around at the open land before her, taking in the sights and sounds of her camp as each warrior tended to their duties or relaxed at the edges of the clearing. and that's when she noticed something out of place. 'oi, look there." she whispered to her deputy, tail gesturing towards the frozen form of flick-kit standing just beyond the nursery entrance. a warm smile crossed the leader's features as she watched the grin form over the tiny one moon old cat's maw, the excitement of being the first out of the nursery overcoming him completely... even if he was only about two mouse-lengths beyond the den.
warmth turned wicked a moment later as a gleam entered the leader's azure optics, one her deputy knew too well. "looks like he's enjoying himself... heh, watch this."
[/i] she whispered before she began to walk towards the tiny form, intend in each step as she drew closer until she stood next to the little kitten. "well, well, well... who do we have here?" she asked, her tone serious and features completely stone faced and serious as she glared down at the tiny kitten. "i thought that was you, young warrior. didn't i assign you to the morning patrol? it left a while ago, yet you're still here... hmm... neglecting one's warrior duties is a serious offense. i think punishment might be in order." and here here serious facade cracked completely into a playful grin as she lowered her dainty head down to attempt to knock the kitten off his paws and tickle his stomach with her nose. by now, her deputy had all but disappeared from the background to go hunting with a few other cats, but sunstar didn't notice. right now, she was completely and utter committed to "punishing" this tiny "warrior" of hers until he was begging for mercy... or until sandyflower woke up, whichever came first.[/color][/font][/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]

"but i've done nothing wrong!" he protested, shock and fear crossing over his delicate features. what if she exiled him? what if he had to leave the clan? the forest? what if he had to become a kittype- hold on. when sunstar's muzzle had lowered toward him, he had no idea of her intentions until she knocked him to the side, the kitten completely baffled by this point until she commenced the tickling. it all became clear in that instant that she was playing a game with him! how dumb was he not to notice? cheerful, bubbling laughter aroused from the tiny body as the feline tickled his belly-fur. it made him laugh so much that it soon begun to hurt his sides, and the pale tomcat was cying for mercy. "i give up! i give up!" he yelled with laughter, struggling to get breath into his lungs as he soon started gasping in quick bouts. his wriggling form somehow managed to roll away from his aunt, before the kitten quickly jumped to his paws with shaky breaths, a childish laughter leaving his open maw as he watched the leader with a playful-angry look, pretending immediately that she was an enemy who was out to tickle all their strong warriors. flickkit couldn't stand by and watch this happen, so he puffed out his chest and quickly charged at the older cat, speeding through her legs in an attempt to try and knock her over. whether she could escape his wrath or not determined on how strong she was, although it was highly unlikely that she was stronger than the might flickkit![/style][/style][style=font-family: tahoma; font-size: 9px; text-align: center; margin-top: 2.5px;]made by amb tanz[/style][/style] [newclass=.pic]-moz-box-shadow: 5px 5px 5px #888; -webkit-box-shadow: 5px 5px 5px #888; box-shadow: 5px 5px 5px #888; width: 90px; height: 90px; margin: 0 auto 5 auto; border-radius: 10px;[/newclass][newclass=.pic img]border-radius: 7.5px; width: 90px; height: 90px; [/newclass]
