Shadestep is a very relaxed cat. And that's an under statement. Honestly, the tom has an elder's old, worn and wise personality that's trapped inside of a young warrior's body. This cat is unbelievably chill, calm and collected. It would take a great deal of annoyance or deception to get under his skin. He has a massive amount of patience, which makes him extremely good with handling and tolerating kits. In fact, the tom often finds himself wandering into the nursery rather than them running out to him. While in the nursery, the cat not only enjoys playing with the kittens, but he loves conversing with the queens. Shadestep is a fantastic listener. He'll lift an ear for any cat who wants to get something off their chest, or who merely wants to strike up a conversation. The tom greatly enjoys the company of other cats. Whether it's playing with a kit, sharing tongues with a queen or listening to an elder's life story, Shadestep is just pleased to not be alone.

The warrior finds lazy activities to be some of the most enjoyable. (Conversing, sharing tongues, laying in the sun, etc.). His black fur makes one of his favorite activities, sun bathing, exceptionally superb. It's not that Shadestep is lazy (or at least he doesn't mean to be), he just often tends to find himself in a lull or daze. He's definitely a daydreamer, or a thinker. Shadestep is the type of cat who could lay atop a hot surface for hours on end, and would be fine and dandy with doing just that. He has no need for adventure. In fact, there hasn't been one moment in the tom's life that he's done something out of the ordinary. Some may call this "boring". He calls it "content". Though, he does find pleasure in listening to other cats' stories of their adventure. Perhaps someday some cat could talk him into stepping out of his comfort zone. His laziness doesn't prevent him from fulfilling his warrior duties. He loves hunting, but not so much fighting. When not laying leisurely around camp, the young warrior would probably be found on a hunt. As a young cat, Shadestep had been a stellar hunter. He gained his name from being so light on his feet.

Shadestep is a fairly confident cat. He isn't easily intimidated, persuaded or pushed around. The tom avoids arguments because he feels that they're a waste of time. He thinks that any problem can be resolved through communication rather than with violence. He thinks before he speaks, which prevents him from saying meaningless rubbish, therefore avoiding pointless corrals. He is more the mediator type, or a silent liaison. Shadestep is like a middle man who breaks up disputes.
