A BIT OF A DILEMMA

hi everyone. <3 first off, i'd like to apologize for my absence! i had a serious case of pneumonia right before thanksgiving. and then, of course, i was off for about a week due to the holiday! still sick, but meh. anyway, i just wanted to get your opinions on something.

should we stay open?

i know that the holiday season is around the corner and a lot of people won't have time to be on regularly due to being with family. i could put the site on members only mode for about a month or two. just so it won't look dead to everyone who attempts to join over the holidays: it'll just be join at your own risk type thing. something else that is starting to worry me is: the release of v5. i, obviously, won't be able to transfer all the posts and profiles of your characters over to the upgraded site when the change happens. i'm not sure how this new v5 is gonna look anyway. playing with my test site.... it's extremely difficult to get used to. so, considering the holidays and the approaching move to v5... what do you guys honestly think? i'd love to keep it going until the end, but i know that it'll be hard to get on and stuff throughout my christmas break plus the move to v5. meh. anyway, something to think about. opinions? ideas? lemme hear em. c:

the way version 5 will work is basically when the beta finishes and the move begins, there will be an option to upgrade the site, which means everything from the site will stay, it'll just convert it to the new version.

but i know you're pain. I'm going to struggle a lot with the change, seeing as it means almost every code will break, unless the coders get on it like, right now, which most seem to be. but either way.

right now, i'm struggling with internet, so personally, i really can't invest the time i was originally planning to into the place. with the... limited attention that seems to be around at the moment also though, makes me think that maybe the site would be better off in members only, as much as that sucks.

at least until you're able to invest the time you'd like into the place.

i love this site to death quite honestly and i would hate to see it go so soon after the revamp. i think it'd be a good idea to go members only for a couple months just so everyone can get back on their feet. i'm around quite often so activity isn't really an issue for me.

i thoroughly enjoy being on here, with the people and the characters, so i really hope that this is just a temporary slump and we'll bounce back quite soon ♥

As for this whole version 5 thing, I'm not sure what it's really about. Is it a proboards upgrade for the site or is it a move to another site entirely? And either way, what are the differences between this version and the version 5? Sorry I'm not so up to date on this. >.<

I personally think we should keep the site open, in case any new members would like to help the site get back up and stay on its feet while some of our older members are busy during the holidays. But ultimately, it's really up to you and what everyone else thinks, because I'm sure you have your reasons if you do choose to close the site to members only. You do what's best for the site and I'll be right there behind you, Jolie. <3

And! I'll try my best to be as active as possible. I have a lot of hope for this site and I'll try my best to make it active and support it to the best of my ability. <3
