[style=width:490; height:300px; font-family:arial; font-size:12px; text-align:justify; overflow:auto;] Grayblaze was awake much earlier than usual, excited like a little kit about to be apprenticed and eagerly waiting to see the world. Today would be his first time leading a hunting patrol, and about time! Although he would let the wait slide, seeing that Sunstar was a very busy she-cat, and quite a beautiful one at that. He was just glad that he had been chosen in the first place; it proved that she knew that he was fully capable of being the natural born leader he was.
And with all the excitement came much hunger, since waking up early always seemed to make his belly noisier, even if he just lay there under the watchful eyes of the dear beloved StarClan warriors. So as soon as the rosy lights of dawn started to creep over the hills, the gray tabby tom popped up onto his paws, refusing to wait any longer. He knew exactly who he wanted to come on this patrol, and he padded over first to a white and ginger she-cat, prodding her gently. "'Ey swee'heart, wakey wakey, time ta go huntin'." He didn't wait for her reply before he bounded over to another she-cat, patting his paws against her ginger tabby pelt lightly as well, cooing, "Same wit'choo, Lightrain. C'mon, befo' da prey are wide awake."
And finally, he cheerily approached his long-legged apprentice, whom he prodded hard in the back, saying in a peppy tone, "Git up, yeh lazy fuzzball. Time ta put dose huntin' methods I taught yeh ta good use." Now, with his warriors and apprentice given the wake up call, he stated toward the base of the slope that led out of camp and out to the open moor, where he could already feel the flesh and fur of a rabbit being clamped tightly in his jaws. "Hurry up now, yeh slackahs!" He called out at the top of his lungs, unashamed of the fact that he probably woke up a few other sleepy warriors. "We gotta git goin'!"

"Hurry up now, yeh slackahs! We gotta git goin'!"
sure enough, before beetlepaw even had time to stretch, the warrior’s loud voice was screeching through the clearing. he could hear turtlepaw out front complaining about how beetlepaw’s mentor was such a pain. sighing, the black tom padded from the den. blinking sleep from his eyes, he trotted hesitantly over to his mentor. “you could’ve given us a nicer wake up call. turtlepaw scratched me on the nose because you pushed me! thanks a lot,” he hissed grumpily, still poking at his clawed nose. “let’s hurry up and get this hunting going. so i can come back and sleep. the faster we get going, the better. but the whole clan could use without the wakeup call for a patrol that’s not their’s.”

'Ey swee'heart, wakey wakey, time ta go huntin
greyblaze's voice caused her to rise her head, only to see him off and waking up the next cat in line. she rose from her nest, a dark green fire blazing in her eyes. as she rose from her nest, she felt the tiny pieces of moss sticking to her ginger and white coat. she shook herself, dislodging most of the larger pieces. slowly she began to groom her coat, soft gentle licks the did well in ridding the rest of the pieces of moss. her venomous eyes went to the warriors den entrance, where greyblazes tail dissapeared. she grunted ever so softly, thankful for the reminder that she needed to wake up, but still rather peeved that she had to wake up when she did in the first place. still, she reasoned, she couldn't sit here and do nothing. so, she exited the den and went over to the freshkill pile.
amberlight picked out a plump looking mouse that had the woodsy smell of thunderclan still clinging to it. it must have crossed the border before being caught by a windclan patrol. she began to eat the mouse, doing her best to savor every bite. she wished she could feel the energy flood into her limbs. nothing stirred in her limbs so she finished the mouse promptly and buried its remains. greyblaze had exited from his apprentice's den, with a grumpy beetlepaw following behind. even the queens love for young cat couldn't lighten the cloud over her head as she went to join them. her dark green eyes spoke volumes and made the uttered good morning seem useless. no, it was not a good morning. still, she sat down, curled her tail over her paws, and waited for the rest of the patrol to come. in her wait, her gaze searched the clearing, though it clearly avoided greyblaze's. well let's get it over with |

Even though her eyes were shut, her face pressed into her brother’s thick tabby pelt, she could feel the other cats around her, hearing them beginning to shift and change with the morning light. Though, in all honesty she was quite happy there. Hawkstare let out a small snore, and the she-cat sighed, burrowing closer to his huge form. However, after a moment the voice of Grayblaze sounded out, and she knew the time wouldn’t last. She was well aware they had a patrol to go on after all. "Same wit'choo, Lightrain. C'mon, befo' da prey are wide awake." That was her cue then. Stirring, the she-cat lifted her head, giving a wide yawn, watching Grayblaze as he moved out of the den.
Right, Beetlepaw was going with them, wasn’t he? Attempting to untangle herself from her brother, she found herself trapped as he shifted, wrapping a strong paws around her head, basically pinning her there. Grunting, Lightrain sighed. “Hawkstare, I need to go- Hawkstare!” Wriggling free at last, the tom shifted in his sleep, leaving the she-cat sitting next to him with ruffled for. Lightrain huffed, shaking her head, before moving out after Amberblaze, able to pick up Beetlepaw’s whining before even getting out of the den. Well this was going to be a fun patrol. Not that she was planning on saying anything about having to deal with the tom. He needed to learn somehow didn’t he?
Approaching the gathered group, Lightrain gave a small purr of greeting, tail flicking behind her. “Morning everyone,” |
[/b] she meowed pleasantly, aquamarine eyes glimmering in the light as she moved to Grayblaze’s side. “Are we going anywhere particular?” She probably should have been more fussed about her messy pelt, but she really couldn’t bring herself to care, not at that moment anyway. Looking between the three cats of the patrol, she sat herself down, even if it was only for a moment while everyone pulled themselves together. [style=width:490; height:300px; font-family:arial; font-size:12px; text-align:justify; overflow:auto;] The tabby top smiled brightly when he saw his chosen few rise up and approach him, starting first with his less-than-enthusiastic apprentice. Smirking, he said, "Well look who decided ta wake up dis mornin'! " Then he made an attempt to grab the little black kit and drag him over in a hug with one of his forelegs, before commenting on Beetlepaw's complaint. "Well well, looks like someone likes ya." He purred cheerily. "Lemme tell ya, gerls will be gerls and dey'll always express deir feelin's in odd ways, but always know dat de roughest ones are de ones dat like yeh da best. Take it from someone who knows." He gave his apprentice a wink before looking out to the next sleepy arrival.
"Mornin', Amberlight. Yer lookin' very fine fer just havin' woken up." He complimented, his tone very friendly, despite having noticed the grumpy blaze in her intense green eyes and the ruffled look that suggested a very uncomfortable night. At her unenthusiastic grumble, Grayblaze shot Beetlepaw another wink with a smirk that said, "I told you so".
Finally, the distinctive soft ginger tabby pelt of Lightrain arrived to their little party, which made up the whole hunting patrol. Despite looked just as ruffled as the other two though, this she-cat was the only one who seemed to be in a pleasant mood. "Mornin' Lightrain. Glad yeh could join us." He purred jollily. "Well den, I do believe dat's all o' us. We're headin' out tuh da barley fields, tuh answer yer question, m'lady." He announced to all of them. "I say we should stick togethah 'til we get dere. Den I'll give you all da signal, and yer free tuh proceed on da hunt! Just be sure yeh remembah tuh regroup once yer finished wit' yer business. If yeh can't find me, just find someone else tuh tag along wit', and I'll find yeh. Got it?"
And without waiting for an answer, the tabby tom turned away from the camp and out toward the barley fields, trusting that his patrol was loyal and disciplined enough to follow suit. He was aching to get his claws and teeth into some fresh meat, but he knew that he should keep an eye on Beetlepaw first, and see what his approach to hunting was after their most recent training session. Maybe the thick-headed little fuzzball actually learned something.
Once they reached their destination, Grayblaze looked back to his patrol and with a nod of his head, dismissed them to begin their tracking.
