[style=text-align:justify;] It wasn't that he didn't care for his clan! That was what needed to be understood. He adored every single member of the clan and only wanted the best for them all. However, that didn't mean he was going to work himself to death when they didn't need it. Sure, leaf-bare was coming and that meant they probably wanted to get extra prey. But he still didn't see the point of hunting day in and day out. Which was the main reason he was out in the fields, away from everyone. He'd been useful so far though! Two rabbits and another patrol, that was more than he usually did first thing of a morning.
Coming to a halt, Hawkstare gave a loud yawn, glancing around the field absently. He would've passed out back in the warriors den, but after all the huff and puff of getting people up, he was pretty sure he'd get grumbled at for going back to sleep. All he wanted to do was sit around. Maybe after a nap he could volunteer to guard? That sounded like a good idea. He liked guarding usually. Except when things happened. Sitting himself down, the tom watched a few birds fly remarkably close, swirling around his head before flying off again with a few loud chirps. If he had more energy, it wouldn't have hurt to chase them either.
With a sigh, the tom flopped onto his side, parting his jaws in a loud yawn. Okay, yeah, he really just wanted to sleep. But, even he wasn't mousebrained enough to do that alone out of camp. So, it meant he was left lying around, regaining energy other ways. Hawkstare rolled onto his back, looking up at the sky and blinking a few times. Clouds slowly rolled across the bright blue sky, shifting and shaping into different forms as the wind blew them about, changing the style. Well, this was a decent enough way to spend his time. The warrior let out a content sigh, following the clouds as they moved.

Delicate paws carried the calico through the grass, green eyes narrowed to slits. Emberstrike had decided to do a bit of... a bit of what? As she thought about it, there really wasn`t that much to do. Aside from hunting that is. She really hated having nothing to do, but the she-cat supposed it was better than being overloaded with work. She hadn`t been chosen for a patrol that morning, and had ended up just lounging around camp until she had optioned for going out. With a huff, she came to a halt and lifted her head as high as she could, opening her eyes wide to look around her. A small breeze ruffled her fur, and she fluffed up as it blew by. With a wave of her tail, she started moving again, not seeing anything particularly eye-catching.
A flutter of movement caught her eye, and she froze in place as the sudden scent of rabbit flooded her. Then she saw it. A young rabbit, though plump for its size. She lowered instinctively, rolling her shoulders a couple times to prepare to pounce. She crept closer, sliding her paws slowly forward. Muscles bunched together, body coiling up like a spring. In a flash, Emberstrike leaped after rabbit, streaking after as it hared away. The feline forced air to pump through her lungs, heart hammering while blood pounded in her ears. Claws dug into the ground to give her better traction. Inches shortened between her claws and her prey, one final leap and it would be hers. Muscles burned beneath her skin as she launched herself to finish it, her paw catching on the creature`s hind leg. She fell on the rabbit, finish it quickly but cleanly.
With a pleased snort, she picked it up in her jaws and went on her way, the catch swinging limply between her front legs. She went a a little bit farther before dropping the rabbit, pausing to bury it so she could get it later. Emberstrike then caught the faint smell of one of her clanmates, instantly deciding to follow it. She didn`t have to go far before she saw who it was, though their name escaped her at the moment. Shaking out her fur, the calico made her presence known. "Hello. Lovely day, isn`t it?" Her tone was slightly dry, as if she wasn`t really meaning to aska question but was instead making a statement. She wasn`t really well-known for her behavior. words;; 423 notes;; i hope you don`t mind if i reply to this...?
