They could hardly be seen, though, through the cover of the foliage, creating a canopy over the wet terrain. For some reason, she liked this kind of weather. The atmosphere around her seemed thick and cozy even though the cloud cover seemed to threaten rain. She didn't mind, it was just kind of nice to be in the swamp like this, relishing the darkness in the middle of the day, and contemplating her thoughts. She briefly wondered how she'd react if someone came upon her out here, but she did her best to brush the thought away. Most cats, at sunhigh, would either be on a border patrol or napping in camp. She fell into a smooth crouch and made her way to the edge of a shallow, grassy pond- not uncommon in a territory as sodden as ShadowClan's.
At the edge, she found a dry patch and flopped down, stretching out a forepaw to dangle in the opaque water. The she-cat blinked big dark brown eyes as she watched the ripples dance away and lap up against the tendrils of watery plantlike until the whole area around her seemed to be swaying with the gentle rhythm of the pond. She loved ShadowClan, and didn't care what the other clans had to say about it. Dark? Wet? All the better, it was the life for her. The tabby female sat up and craned her neck, peering about her surroundings as though she hadn't been in that very spot a million times before during training. With a shriek, several crows erupted from a nearby tree, and Cherrypaw winced with the fluster of it. It meant she had company."Hey! Who's out there?" she asked bravely, puffing out her chest.[/style][/style]
