She is loyal and would do anything to help her fellow clanmates. She has spent her whole life studying the plants around the lake and getting to know them and all of the many uses that they provide. The only time Ivysong hates being a medicine cat is when there is nothing she can do to help one of her friends. She feels useless then, and can sometimes get depressed. She has struggled with the fact that she is at a disadvantage because of her eye her entire life, and often needs someone to give her a boost of confidence every now and again. On the other hand, Ivysong always feels important when she can cure a cat of their ailment and this helps her realize that she is important to the clan. Overall, Ivysong is content with being a medicine cat, even though at times it does have its drawbacks. [/style] |

Her's has always been simple, as this is the way in which she likes to live her life. She is a simple creature, and never looks too deep into things as she tends to find that the deeper you look the more you see that you shouldn't see. Ivysong believes that too look too closely is what creates trouble as you often see things that are not truly there. However, back to her past. The feline was born to a queen by the name of Dapplefur, a slender she-cat with a tortoiseshell coat much like her own, though a bit blotchier in pattern. Her father was a strong warrior named Brackenclaw. He was a fierce warrior with a muddy, dark coat. They were good parents and had a litter of three. Ivykit, Silverkit, and Dewkit. Silverkit being the only male of the litter. Ivykit was born with only one eye. Of course, the proud parents did not know this until the kits were older and able to open their eyes. Ivykit's one eye simply did not open. No one knew why. Over time, when Ivysong got her warrior name, she was able to open it when she concentrated really hard on using the muscle that should have worked easily. However, she found she could not see out of the eye anyway. Whether this was natural since birth or was caused by not using it since she was a kit, she did not know. Others told her that it just looked white, unlike her other startling green eye. And so, Ivykit grew up using only one eye. She easily forgot about her disability and it came a shock to her when her parents tried to gently explain why she could not become a normal apprentice like her brother and sister. Instead, she was sent to the medicine cat of the time to be the medicine cat apprentice. She enjoyed the work, and soon figured that she would easily chosen to become medicine cat rather than a warrior. Her soft nature was perfect for soothing hurt friends. Her voice was soft and her touch softer still. She was sharp, and sometimes could be quite witty. Ivysong's great sense of humour came in handy when a hurt or aching cat came to seek her aid, as she soon could have them laughing and they would momentarily forget that they were in pain. This is usually when she would apply whatever stinging ointment she had ready, as it hurt less when you were not concentrated on it. Ivysong was thrilled when she obtained her warrior name, although with it came great responsibility as her mentor was joining the elders after serving a long life as the medicine cat of Riverclan. Ivysong was happy to follow in her mentors pawsteps and swore to never let her clan down. [/style] |
