the onion
When it comes down to it, how Whiteshade treats you pretty much depends on how much he likes you and whether or not your in ShadowClan.
For ShadowClan, he acts mature or authoritative in his deputy position, with a calm demeanour that can handle emergency situations. He lightens up around others, especially those he considers friends, and has a soft spot for apprentices. Sure, is is stern to keep their respect, but occasionally lets his guard down and shows how he can nothing but a big, fatherly softie. Again, this is only occasional and when not too many others are around. Whiteshade is also more tolerant for them, while a warrior will have a much easier time pushing his buttons and getting him to snap.
Outside cats don't get to see Whiteshade's pleasantness as much. Show him even an ounce of disrespect and his claws will be coming out. To those in particular he doesn't like, his is smarmy and enjoys getting under their skin to provoke a reaction, however, is usually subtle about it and says and does things in a passive-aggressive manner. Their are a rare few that have earned his respect, however, and he is unafraid to show his niceness and sincerity to them. But, this respect must be earned.
Despite being of 42 moons, Whiteshade has yet to show any sort of interest in a she-cat, unless he is being obnoxiously flirty, but that is more to get under their skin then any real attraction.
Whiteshade likes to follow warrior code word for word, and dislikes any he has heard of that hasn't. Trying to argue with him about it is pointless, as he is dogmatic on this topic.
The two things he flip-flops on is the Warrior Games and StarClan. Both are very sensitive topics, and he often pretends to have the same position on the subject as the one he is speaking too, that is, if he finds them respectful enough. Really, he is doubtful of StarClan, wishing to believe in it's existence and fearful of death, but has trouble putting faith in something that, to his own envy, has never contacted him. He despises the risk behind the Warrior Games, especially when he so easily gets attached to the apprentices. He also hates the idea of having to give the victor of the hunting challenge prey for an entire four seasons, finding it ridiculous for such a punishment to be bestowed simply for having two apprentices slightly worse at hunting then others.
Also rather obsessed with keeping his pelt clean, it's a nightmare how easily even the slightest amount of dirt shows on white!
